PERSONAS brings the full weight of a career rebuilt on his own terms.

Long before the alias PERSONAS existed, the Bristol producer behind it had already lived one chapter of his music career in full. Starting out in the early 2000s, he came up as an MC, shaped by his brother Scarz and the close-knit circle Scarz ran with — KHK (Kold Hearted Krew), a crew that counted Joker, Buggsy, and Javeon among its members. That environment built the foundation: an instinct for rhythm, an ear for texture, and a deep familiarity with the sounds that would go on to define Bristol's underground.

Over time, the focus shifted from the mic to the studio. He developed across multiple DAWs, moved into programming and composition, and later added DJing to his practice. Under his earlier alias, that work took him to some of Bristol's most significant spaces — Motion, Thekla, Lakota, The Trinity Centre, and St Pauls Carnival, while radio play reached Rinse FM, KISS FM, and BBC Radio Bristol, alongside a run of pirate stations. By around 2013, recognition was coming from producers and DJs including Swindle, Royal T, and Von D, among others.

That chapter has since closed. PERSONAS represents a deliberate reframing — same city, same roots, but a sound rebuilt around the breadth of what he actually hears and feels. The music sits within the 140, Dubstep, and Grime space, but it carries the weight of R&B, orchestral composition, and the precision of video game scoring alongside it. The result is something cinematic and gritty in equal measure: warm where it needs to be, weighty where it counts. For a producer with this much accumulated context, the current work is less a fresh start than a proper reckoning with everything that came before.
